Crafting a Sustainable Art Studio Haven

This project marked our return to collaborate with a budget-conscious client, an established sculptor seeking an inspiring art studio escape at the rear of her garden. Our challenge was to deliver an innovative design and build within tight financial constraints. To achieve this, we embraced the principles of sustainability, prioritizing recycled materials, a streamlined palette, and pure architectural forms.

The studio's design revolves around simplicity, with a clean box-like structure. However, we introduced artistic elements like a cranked wall and a custom steel and glass sliding door. This door gracefully opens the building's corner, connecting the studio harmoniously to the garden and a wet working terrace.

In this project, we've proven that sustainability and creativity can thrive even within budget constraints. The result is a captivating art studio that speaks to both artistic expression and responsible architecture, providing our client with an inspiring haven for her creative endeavors.
